-- Documentation on Installing Your TV Lamp --
IMPORTANT NOTE: All our replacement lamps come with model and lamp specific instructions. Please follow those instructions whenever possible. The following instructions are generic and may not work for your specific make or model. If you have lost your instructions or are unable to locate your instructions please contact us so that we may provide you with the correct information!
- Locate and remove the lamp access panel on the rear of the set. There is usually one screw holding it in place. Remove that screw and ease the panel off. It removes most easily if you hold the back of the panel and slide it toward the side.
- Unscrew the two brass screws on each end of the base. They won't come out completely as they're designed to stay on the lamp as it's removed. There's a pull-handle on most units for removing the lamp. Give that a tug, and if it gives and stops, you may need to loosen the screws more.
- Pull out the lamp. Don't touch anything other than the plastic or metal casing as it can be hot.
- When removing the lamp and housing please note the position and alignment for when you install your new lamp noting in particular the connector plug at the top of the lamp.
- Remove the two to four screws, depending on your model, holding in the lamb itself from the plastic or metal housing. Please note the placement of the screws, connectors and alignment of the bulb before you remove it for reference when inserting the new lamp. Remove old bulb and replace with your new OEM lamp.
- Carefully slide the new lamp and housing back in the same way the old one came out. That plug needs to connect with its mate, and the two tabs that the screws are on will meet flush with the ends of the rails. It can be tricky to get the new lamp back in. Do not use force to insert your new lamp and housing. A slight wiggle may be needed to reconnect the lamp and get it in place.
- Once it's in, tighten the screws that should already be there attached to the lamp.
- Put the cover back on the set and secure it with the screw. The television has a sensor and will not turn on if this panel is not in place. This is a safety feature as things get hot in there.
- Power up the television and if all went well, your set should start up and look as it should when it was purchased new!
